"Kate is amazing. Kate and PeachCraft took Chelsea's acting skills beyond where we thought they could go and now a number of opportunities are coming her way." - Susan Meyers

"I miss having you as an acting coach and being in class with everyone! I love my classes here in LA, but there are no actors studios that have an "ensemble" as close, supportive, comforting, unique, or fun as Peachcraft. And there is no Kate Kennedy on the West Coast!" -Tyler Shamy

"I just wanted to thank you for all your extra-ordinary hard work this summer.  You gave the kids a wonderfully positive experience and I know that my son had a great time and learned a lot.  I enjoyed every performance of the show, the talented kids, and getting to know the other moms as well as yourselves." - Julia Frankel

AUDITIONS AND INTERVIEWS BEGIN
FEBRUARY 13 - JUNE 10, 2010

Let PeachCraft Studios of Acting, Voice and Filmmaking nurture and develop your child's passion for their Creative Development. Founded in Summer 2006, PeachCraft's Summer Artist Development Workshops are full-day training programs for students ages 8-18 in acting, musical theater and filmmaking culminating in fully produced performances and screenings of finished productions and short films open to the public on PeachCraft Stages and Cinemas.

Each program features the highest quality of training from professionals in their respective industries. The full-day, four-week training programs are held Monday - Friday and run from 9am to 4pm for the Musical Theater Program and 9am to 5pm for the Filmmaking Workshop. The Actors Studio program runs weekly from 10am to 4pm. Student artists immerse themselves for the summer into what is quickly becoming known as one of the most prestigious and renowned training academies for drama, musical theater and filmmaking in New Jersey.

AREAS OF ARTIST DEVELOPMENT SUMMER 2010

Dramatic Art

SUMMER DRAMA WORKSHOPS 2010

Director: Kate Kennedy

"All true artists bare within themselves a deeply rooted and often unconscious desire for transformation." (Michael Chekhov)

The Art of Creating: Awareness  Movement  Characterization  Psychological Gesture Transformation

The Dramatic Art Summer Workshop is a one or two week course that enables the actor to express and embody the character's objectives in a new way through The Psychological Gesture. The Michael Chekhov technique is a profound movement training combining sensation, vision and awareness through image and movement. The student artists will have the opportunity to work on contemporary text for the purposes of voice, movement, awareness, characterization, improvisation, audition technique and script analysis. The student artists will work on monologues and scenes that are chosen with their own particular needs in mind.

Classes take place from 10am-4pm, Monday to Friday. Some sessions during the week may run a little longer than this. The classes are mandatory. There is no option to miss a class as the ensemble depends upon each other to work on the material. Students are expected to consider these workshops as professional training.

Students are required to wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement in the Actors Studio.
