COURSE OVERVIEW
The PDVF Modern Drama Workshop is a two-week intensive course that gives the student actor the opportunity to work on a contemporary text for the purposes of voice, movement,
script analysis, characterization, improvisation, audition technique and awareness. The actors will be given monologues to prepare. This monologue will provide the core of the actor's time on the course. The foundation technique that is workshopped at PDVF is Michael Chekhov.
The students will be required to have read To The Actor by Michael Chekhov.
The students will also be given a scene to work on with another actor and guided by the acting director. Participants will work in a group of approximately 12 led by the director on voice and actors movement. The student artists monologues and scenes that are chosen are with their own particular needs in mind.
Classes are not optional. Each student must be available for the entire two weeks as we treat this time as professional rehearsals daily. Students are expected to consider this workshop as professional training.
Students are required to wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement in the Actors Studio.
No conflicts will be accepted.
